Word Walls / Wordle Walls

From: 38 Interesting Ways to use Wordle in the Classroom Google Presentation

I was talking with a teacher the other day about innovative "Word Walls" and how students demonstrate the ownership of the new words. We brainstormed ways for them to visualize the words in pictures through a "word display" that might involve blank cell phone pics but the interior of the cell phone was a vocab word and a picture. We talked about students designing a Visual Representation of a word as an "APP" that would live on a giant iPad bulletin board. The point is to be creative, and try to attach an image to a word, known words to the new words, or other ways that build connections between what a kid already knows and what they need to own. -Mike Fisher, August, 2012
